Tai-Heng Cheng chairs the New York international arbitration practice of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP. He has achieved numerous victories in investor-state and commercial arbitrations, worldwide, as well as in US litigation and regulatory investigations.

With over 15 years of experience as an attorney, Dr. Cheng has also served as tribunal chair or co-arbitrator in more than a dozen arbitrations with $8bn. to $5mm. at stake, and is a member of the arbitration panels of arbitration institutions in North America, Europe and Asia.

Dr. Cheng has been recognized in Chambers Global and Chambers USA for international arbitration, GAR and Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration Future Leaders 2017, Benchmark Litigation’s Rising Stars, Benchmark Litigation’s Under 40 Hot List, as well as in Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration. Awards rendered by Dr. Cheng have been confirmed by U.S. District and Appeals courts as well as non-U.S. courts. A U.S. court has complemented one of Dr. Cheng’s awards as “thorough and well-reasoned.”

He is an elected fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, the American Law Institute and the Foreign Policy Association, and serves on the boards of several professional and civic associations.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Cheng was a tenured professor of international law in the United States. Dr. Cheng has a J.S.D. and LL.M. degree from Yale Law School and first class honors in law from Oxford University.

Dr. Cheng is bilingual in English and Mandarin.

Odysseas G Repousis, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP

Dr Odysseas Repousis is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office and a member of the international arbitration group. His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, investor-state disputes and public international law. Odysseas also has experience in international and EU trade law, trade defence investigations and white-collar crime.

Odysseas has acted in cases spanning a broad range of industry sectors, arbitration rules and applicable laws. His common law and civil law backgrounds allow him to effectively advise on disputes involving parties across jurisdictions.

Prior to joining the firm, Odysseas received his master of laws degree from Harvard Law School and his PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Odysseas has also worked at the International Chamber of Commerce and the European Commission and has held research positions with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the United Nations International Law Commission. Odysseas has spoken and written extensively on international arbitration topics, and has delivered lectures on public international law and arbitration at universities in the United States and Hong Kong.
