Matthew Howse, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP

Matthew Howse represents clients in the financial services, media, legal, and insurance industries in High Court and employment tribunal litigation. His experience includes employment law as well as privacy and cybersecurity law. In addition to litigating both contentious and noncontentious issues, Matthew provides strategic employment law advice and counsels clients on the employment law aspects of transactions.  He is the practice group leader for Morgan Lewis’s labor and employment practice in London. As part of Morgan Lewis’s cross-practice Global Workforce team, Matthew helps provide integrated cross-border advice, counseling, and strategic planning across a spectrum of labor, employment, benefits, and immigration issues.

Sabine Smith-Vidal, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP

Sabine Smith-Vidal is the managing partner of Morgan Lewis’s Paris office. She advises French and international companies on labor and employment issues associated with cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings. Working closely with her clients, Sabine assists with the establishment of pension plans, employee savings plans, and social plans. She advises corporations on multijurisdictional employment issues, including trade union law, outsourcing, and individual and collective dismissals. In addition, Sabine provides guidance and legal representation in labour dispute litigation. Sabine earned her DEA in 1987 at Universite de Paris II Pantheon-Assas and a diploma in 1983 from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Walter Ahrens, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP

Walter Ahrens is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment practice. Mr Ahrens advises domestic and foreign employers on a variety of collective and individual employment law issues. His practice focuses on workforce changes, works councils, employment contracts, terminations, pensions, benefits and data privacy, particularly in a cross-border context. Mr Ahrens represents clients in labour courts against employees, works councils, and trade unions.

From Frankfurt, Mr Ahrens is part of our Chambers Global ranked employment team. He also participates in our cross-practice global workforce team that provides integrated cross-border advice, counselling and strategic planning across the spectrum of labor, employment, benefits and immigration issues. Mr Ahrens is fluent in German and English.

Mark Zelek, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP

Mark E. Zelek is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice and leader of the firm's International Labor and Employment Practice. He currently serves as the Miami office’s managing partner. Mr. Zelek's practice focuses on counseling and representing employers in the full spectrum of employment and employee benefits law matters, including FLSA, noncompete and trade secrets, and discrimination litigation and arbitration. Mr. Zelek also has experience with international and Puerto Rican labor law matters, and he advises domestic clients on Latin American and Puerto Rican labor law and Latin American clients on U.S. labor law. From Miami, Mr. Zelek is part of our cross-practice Global Workforce team that provides integrated cross-border advice, counseling, and strategic planning across the spectrum of labor, employment, benefits, and immigration issues.

From 2006 through 2013, Mr. Zelek was named one of the leading U.S. lawyers for employment law by Chambers USA, based on the views of clients, peers, and other industry professionals. Clients reported that Mr. Zelek "rises to the occasion" and "always sensibly weighs up the pros and cons of a matter before acting." Part of our Chambers Global ranked Employment team, Chambers also has called Mr. Zelek "well steeped in labor law" and has reported that Mr. Zelek regularly uses his fluency in Spanish to the benefit of clients, advising Latin American clients on U.S. labor law and vice versa.

Mr. Zelek, who is fluent in Spanish, has lectured widely on a broad range of labor and employee benefits law issues.
