Mark A Perry, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP

Mark A Perry is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Co-Chair of the firm's nationwide Appellate and Constitutional Law Practice Group.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate levels.

Mr. Perry is an accomplished appellate lawyer who has briefed and argued many cases in the Supreme Court of the United States—including winning the landmark decisions in Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank and Janus Capital Group v. First Derivative Traders —and the federal courts of appeals.  He has served as chief appellate counsel to Fortune 100 companies in significant securities, intellectual property, and employment cases.  He also appears frequently in federal district courts, serving both as lead counsel and as legal strategist in complex commercial cases.  He has special expertise in class actions, and teaches the upper-level course in Class Action Law and Practice at Georgetown University Law Center.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Perry served as a law clerk to Justice Sandra Day O'Connor of the Supreme Court of the United States, and to Judge Alex Kozinski of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  He also worked as what is now called a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General of the United States.  Mr. Perry earned his law degree with high honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review

Perlette Michèle Jura, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP

Perlette M Jura is a partner in Gibson Dunn’s Los Angeles office, with a practice focused on complex trial and appellate litigation. She co-chairs the firm’s Transnational Litigation Group and the firm’s Aerospace and Related Technologies Group. She has played a key role in a number of high-profile transnational, environmental and technology-driven matters. Ms Jura has extensive experience working with the food and beverage, agricultural, automotive, emerging technology and energy industries. 

As a co-chair of the firm’s Transnational Litigation Group, Ms Jura has wide-ranging experience litigating and counseling on multidistrict and cross-border matters, including several mass and class action suits. Ms Jura has played a critical role as a master strategist and team leader in several high-profile US matters and transnational trials and appeals and is regularly relied upon by clients to help them develop comprehensive global strategies.  She has significant experience litigating cases that turn on complex choice of law issues and litigating recognition and enforcement of foreign country judgments.  She also regularly advises on supply chain liability risks, corporate separateness and cross-border compliance issues.

The Daily Journal named her to its 2017 Top 40 Under 40 list, which highlights leading California-based attorneys under the age of 40.  She was also named to the Daily Journal’s “Top 2017 Women Lawyers” list. In 2017, the Los Angeles Business Journal named Perlette to its list of “Most Influential Women Lawyers” in Los Angeles, featuring 50 of the most accomplished female attorneys working in the region, and in 2016, they named her to its “Leaders in Law” list, which recognises leading attorneys in the Los Angeles business community. In 2016, Ms Jura was named by The Legal 500 as one of the six leading transnational litigation lawyers in the country.
